India is a country of different festivals. It is said that the people of India celebrate every festival with great enthusiasm. Like other festivals, people of India also celebrate the New Year with great zeal and happiness. It is not only celebrated in India but also all over the world with great happiness.
It is said that the festivals are the occasions of family gatherings, exchange of gifts and greetings, giving sweets to each other, joy and feasting. New Year is also celebrated all over the world with great happiness. Every year people are very excited to celebrate it.
It is celebrated according to the Gregorian calendar. According to the calendar, there are 12 months in every year and the day 1st January is considered as starting off the New Year and accepted and celebrated all over the world.
It is a special day for all the people because the New Year starts with this day. Everybody welcome the upcoming year in their own choice and way. People send greeting cards to wish their friends and relatives.
The celebration for the New Year starts on 31 December. People celebrate this day with music, dance, and feast. People arrange parties on this day and celebration keeps continue till 12’ o clock.
It is considered that the next day starts after the 12’o clock at midnight. So after 12’0 clock at night is considered the starting of The New Year.

On this day, most of the people want a new beginning of their life. Thus they want to start a new beginning of something. So they keep promises to themselves to do things in a better way.Thus they try to make New Year resolutions. Basically, a New Year resolution is a promise to us to correct our mistakes which we have done in the past years and do not want to repeat those mistakes in future.
So we keep New Year resolutions. It is really a very interesting part of this festival.
We try to keep our resolution in the future also. Thus the New Year resolution has its own importance in our life. It is also very important to reform our mistakes in future and start a new beginning to achieve our goals.
We also set new goals on this day to fulfil till next year. Some goals we have achieved but some are left uncompleted so we again try to complete them and start a new journey of a New Year with more hope and enthusiasm.
